We
are very fortunate to have a full time artist who has the ability to create
beautifully detailed personalized designs. Dan Hafer has been with Dodds
since 1986. Dan is a graduate from the University of Dayton and has a
Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, and a teaching
certificate for Primary and Secondary Education. Dan has done more
sandblast portraits than probably any other memorial artist in the United
States. Dan's ability to create incredibly detailed designs by using a
diamond tipped etcher allows a family a limitless means of personalization.
During the
initial meeting with families, Dodds' memorial counselors will share many ideas
of how a memorial can be personalized. If the family chooses a special
personal design, our counselors will describe on the order (for our artists) an
idea of what the family would like to have. The family will supply
pictures or other artwork which will be sent to our artist, who will 
then
create a full size drawing. An appointment is scheduled and the artist
will meet with the family. Any necessary changes are made and the family
will know exactly how the finished memorial will look before it is etched. Dodds
is the only Dayton area memorial company where families and artists can meet to
insure that this most lasting art form is as perfect as humanly
possible.
